VIDEO EDITING

Keep your captions with your cuts

Choose the source ranges you kept, in playback order. Build one subtitle track for the edited video, plus a worksheet showing where each clip lands.

Useful when you remove a section, rearrange chapters or reuse a clip. The full duration of each range counts, including silence after its last caption.

1. Add the source subtitles

2. Describe the edited video

Use source-video timecodes, including hours and milliseconds. Put names containing commas in quotes. For hard cuts only; transitions, speed changes and gaps need a different timing plan.

Your files stay on this page. Download outputs before leaving.

Review the result with your video

This changes subtitle timing only. It does not edit video, detect speech or rewrite caption wording. A caption crossing a cut is clipped in time but keeps its text, so check the dialogue at each boundary. Simultaneous captions stay simultaneous.

Use the same millisecond cut boundaries in your editor. Frame rounding, fades, speed changes and different source timelines can affect synchronization. A range ending after the last caption can be valid silent footage; confirm it against the source video.

Basic SRT only: UTF-8 text, numeric caption indices and time lines without positioning settings. Limits: 2 MiB source, 10,000 captions, 100 clips, 100,000 output captions 10 MiB output and a 24-hour assembled timeline. Keep your original files. This page does not save a persistent project.
